COMMUNITY groups are stepping up their fight against guided busway plans.
Boothstown Residents' Association back Worsley and Roe Green groups claims that Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive has little support for Leigh Guided Busway proposals.
Adrian Dunning, 'Worsley Says No' Group spokesman and civic trust chairman wants GMPTE documentation to be made public before Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority's decision on the busway - possibly on August 6.
He said: "None of the nine public consultation meetings I attended were in favour of the scheme.
"GMPTE has failed to provide the new developments of Boothstown and Ellenbrook with any public transport provision yet now they expect us to accept this.
"It is likely to cause untold traffic chaos besides threatening the future of bus services serving local villages.
"No consideration has been made about tackling current problems, or even providing better bus services on the existing road."
