THE finest craftwork to come out of Asia is currently on display at the Harris Museum in Preston.
The exhibition includes scores of extracts from craftsmen in Asia, particularly from India and Pakistan, varying from intricate work with cloth to fascinating work with grass.
One exhibit which is proving popular is of examples of Sikki basketery, made by Bucchi Devi, who lives in the Bihar in the region.
She makes ornaments out of a special type of grass which grows near to the river Kosi in Bihar.
Thanks to the Delhi Arts Council, she has been able to exhibit her craft in cities across Asia, and now some of her work is touring Britain.
Much of the exhibition, which also includes beautiful, handcrafted pottery, is available to buy, and the whole exhibition sits beautifully next to the permanent Drapes and Shapes set-up next door.
Audience development officer at the Harris Fareda Khan is pictured with examples of Sikki basketery.
