FORMER Lancashire League professional Corrie Jordaan today moved to quash rumours that he was in jail in South Africa.
Rumours had swept the league that Jordaan, a former professional at Lowerhouse and Rishton, was facing charges of computer fraud.
But the left arm spinner warned from Johannesburg today: "I am really looking for the guy who started the rumour.
"I have got people in England looking for the guy who is spreading the rumours and I am ready to take things further. I cannot defend myself and I am sitting here in shock.
"If people have something against me they can contact me through the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. I am not in prison. I am not eating stale bread and rice water. It is getting ridiculous - I cannot believe it. My county manager has been in touch asking if I am in trouble.
"I did not come back to England because I have got a huge back problem. But I am still a full-time cricketer and am coaching and looking after cricket fields. I was bowler of the year for North West province last year but my back packed up at the end of the season.
"I would like to come back if my back clears up - I have nothing to hide."
Jordaan also denied rumours that he had taken some equipment from manufacturers Ace. He added: "I have spoken to them and they are as shocked about it all as I am."
