HOW right E. Collier was (Journal Mailbox, July 15). I went to the Kenyon Action Group meeting and my comments are as follows:
Chris Maile told the people at the meeting to object at the Warrington meeting next week because if the station is not allowed then Xanadu will not be allowed. He has no regard for the benefits the railway may bring to the local community and surrounding areas.
Peter Sergeant was asked by a resident how many car parking spaces had been applied for (outline planning only) because he and Chris Maile kept telling the residents it was 540. He deliberately avoided the question and after several minutes asked for the question to be repeated, at which stage he had to admit it was 260 not 540. Don't let these people mislead the public.
If the station is built it will offer easy rail connection the Manchester, Liverpool, London, Eccles when it will be connected to the Metro Link for other journeys.
This land has been left exactly as it was when Beeching shut the railway down to a smaller scale, it is not green meadows but a "cinder track".
