ST HELENS is to host next year's Merseyside Youth Games.
They will be staged in the town on Saturday and Sunday, July 8 and 9 and will feature 22 different sports. Teams involving more than 2,500 young people will participate in the two-day festival of sport, with the winners of some of the sports going through to a national Millennium Youth Games at Southampton a month later. Participants will include a number of pupils from the area with special needs. The event will involve a large number pf sports ranging from boys and girls football to table tennis.
