EARLY in the mornings I walk my dog along Lytham Green and have noticed a steady increase in the amount of litter on the green opposite the Rat and Parrot pub.
One morning there were upwards of 50 cans and dozens of glasses (some broken), with discarded chip, pizza and burger cartons, plus general litter.
People cry "foul" at dog owners, but if we can clear up our dog's mess and put it into the appropriate receptacle why cannot the so-called tidy people do the same?
It is true that dog waste is a health hazard, but so are broken glass, split tins and discarded ring pulls - especially to young children.
Is it not time to discard dog wardens, bring in "people wardens", put signs everywhere, issue instant fines and make the litter louts feel like lepers for a change.
I sometimes wonder who are the animals and who are civilised.
