A LANCASTER shop supervisor celebrated 40 years of loyal service in a special ceremony in London.
Jacqui Lennox, 55, has worked at Marks & Spencer since she was 15 and was rewarded with VIP treatment at the company's London headquarters. In attendance was chief executive Peter Salsbury, who said: "The awards ceremony was our way of thanking Jacqui for the many years of hard work and dedication she has given".
Jacqui was presented with a silver canteen of cutlery and was treated, with her husband Allen, to a night at a West End theatre.
"Forty years has flown by. I can honestly say if I had my time again again I'd definitely apply to M&S" said Jacqui.
News of her retirement this month comes with the announcement that the Lancaster store has been selected for a makeover - one of 100 stores that have been chosen to undergo a massive modernisation programme.
The new look will include striking window displays and a much simpler lay out. Bold photographic displays will be introduced to add a new feel to the store and customer services will be improved and extended.
Neil Adams, manager of the Lancaster store said: "Staff are very excited by the news. I'm sure our customers will welcome the new approach - we are committed to providing the service that they value so highly."
