OPPORTUNIST thieves are making life unhealthy for a Bury health food store.
Now, managers at Organic Way, in Britannia Mill, are calling for police to make extra patrols to the Cobden Street shop which remains isolated in the middle of a factory area.
Co-manager Mrs Tracey Tomlinson said the organic fruit and veg store has been recently targeted by thieves three times in just a week.
She said: "The thieves seem to be waiting until we are in the back of the shop or have left for the evening. Cash has been stolen from the till and the till itself was stolen only last week."
Inspector Steve Ellis, head of Bury Township, confirmed extra attention would be paid to the area although he advised the shop owners to install extra security systems to help combat the problem.
