WHEN a group of Leigh fans asked if they could help raise funds for new players they were told - 'on yer bikes.'
So they did!
Twenty intrepid members of the LISA organisation - Leigh Independent Supporters' Association - climbed aboard their cycles on Saturday on a sponsored ride to Featherstone where Leigh had a crucial game on the following afternoon.
The 60-mile trip took the group via Manchester, Oldham, Wakefield and into Featherstone. They hoped to raise in excess of £2,000.
LISA is already funding the payments for Aussie duo, Jamie Kennedy and Kenny Kerr, and hope to raise more cash to help Leigh's push for a Super League place.
The four cyclists are Alan Prescott Snr, son Alan, 13-year-old daughter Lisa and Alan's 16-year-old girlfriend Sam, with sponsors D&G Windows.
