A MAN required 50 stitches to his ear and the side of his face after apparently being attacked as he walked home after a night out.
The 23-year-old victim was walking along Jackson Street towards his home in Clock Face when the alleged incident took place between 11.15 and 11.30pm on Friday, July 9.
He says he heard a man's voice shout his name but when he turned round to see who it was, a glass was smashed into his face and he fell to the ground unconscious. When he came round he was in Whiston Hospital where he was treated for severe cuts to the left side of his face and also had an operation to repair nerve damage in his ear.
Anyone who may have witnessed the attack is asked to contact DC Jeff Huxley at St Helens CID on 0151 777 6064 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
