BLACKBURN Orphanage Cup football committee presented a cheque for £7,000 to the trustees of Blackburn Child Care Society.
Secretary of the annual charity football competition Peter Bush thanked Blackburn Police for £1,301 raised at an event in the Old Blacks FC clubhouse, and all who gave prizes, cash donations and time to make the competition a success.
The cheque was presented to Gordon Fairweather, chairman Blackburn Child Care Society, by Jonathan Bridge, of Farleys Solicitors who sponsored the competition and will be backing next year's event too.
