A CLITHEROE mum has won a top job as part of Manchester Airport's new information services team who are responsible for the company's £10 million computer systems.
Rachelle Newnham, 40, is the airport's Head of Business Solutions Development and has been in the information technology industry for 20 years.
Married with one child, Rachelle's previous positions include business development manager for Exel Logistics, consultant for Ernst and Young, and consultant for the IF Group software house.
She is responsible for developing solutions with the appropriate technologies to meet the demands of the airport.
The information department consists of 103 staff with a budget of £5.5 million to operate, maintain and update the information systems for Manchester's three passenger terminals, office blocks and runway.
Geoff Muirhead, airport chief executive, said: "Rachelle has considerable expertise in the IT industry and I am sure, along with the other new members of the team, will take forward the airport's information services into the millennium."
Rachelle said: "I am extremely pleased to join the airport at such an exciting time, as we enter the new millennium and the second runway nears completion. The growth of the airport over the years has been phenomenal."
