A HUSBAND and wife team are hoping for third time lucky in the Fish and Chip Shop of the Year Competition 1999.
Tony and Elaine Jordan own the Old Mill Hill Chip Shop, New Chapel Street, Mill Hill, and The Galley Chip Shop, Wellington Street, Blackburn.
They are entering the competition for the third time, and they are hungry for success.
The competition, organised by the British Potato Council and Sea Fish Industry Authority, is split into regions around the country.
Judges will be looking for the best fish and chips, presentation and value for money, shop cleanliness and good customer service.
Customers have until July 31 to register their vote, using forms available from the shop.
Everyone who votes will be entered into a special prize draw to win a year's supply of fish and chips.
Tony, 51, said: "We're entered the competition twice before, and this time we're quite confident and hoping for success."
