A PLAYSCHEME has been hailed a success for the second year running by leisure chiefs.
Hyndburn Council's six-week Just For Fun programme is already matching last summer's success in attracting youngsters to join in a wide range of activities at a variety of venues during school holidays.
Several events, including cricket, athletics and crown green bowls, have already been booked up.
The Access scheme, which allows disabled children to join in activities alongside other youngsters, is also proving popular.
Play co-ordinator Nigel Green said: "It's going well again and some of the events have been really popular, especially with children aged eight to 12. The Access programme features things like playing games and trips to the park and that's been well attended, too."
Nigel thanked Padiham-based Epsom Communications for lending staff two mobile phones free of charge for the duration of the scheme.
A few places are still available on Just For Fun and anyone who wants more information can go to the information centre at Accrington Town Hall.
