A WOMAN had her purse stolen by two teenage girls who asked to look at her baby when she was leaving St John's Church, St John's Road, Padiham.

As she allowed one of them to hold the child, the other girl unzipped her handbag and stole the purse, containing £70.

The baby was handed back and the girls made off.

One of the offenders is described as having dark, waist length hair.

The incident happened at about noon yesterday and anyone with information is asked to contact Burnley CID on 01282 425001.
