NEW gates have been unveiled at Downham Hall, the home of Lord and Lady Clitheroe.
The gates, crafted by Downham blacksmith Stephen Marshall, replace the original set which were stolen two years ago.
Lord Clitheroe said he was delighted with the new gates.
"The original gates were presented to my father by neighbours and friends in 1955. When they were stolen their loss was a very great sadness, but I think that the new gates are almost more beautiful than the original," he said.
People can see the gates for themselves this weekend at the hall's annual "gardens open" weekend.
The gardens will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 4pm and there will be a range of attractions, including teas, stalls and music.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Children's Society and Downham Village Hall.
