LANCASHIRE League clubs are considering an official approach from the Central Lancashire League about a merger.
A letter from the CLL, proposing talks, was handed to club representatives at last night's monthly meeting.
"Each representative was given a copy and they will discuss it at club level before reporting back to the August meeting with their views," said Lancashire League secretary Lionel Cooke.
There are known to be some people in the Lancashire League in favour of amalgamation but the general feeling seems to be against it.
