BASKETBALL takes centre stage at Lowton High next month.
The school will host a dunk, dribble and drive basketball camp for youngsters aged 8-18 from August 9-13.
Camp director is Culcheth's Mal Casson, regarded as one of the finest youth development coaches in the country.
He led teams at cadet, junior and U23 levels to five national championships, and has been on the coaching staff of England junior, cadets and U23s during four European tournaments.
Mal has also worked as development coach with the Manchester Giants, later taking charge as director of coaching for the Wigan Basketball Academy.
The camp, which is not residential, is open to all youngsters wishing to improve on their basketball experience.
A hand-picked coaching staff will put fun into the fundamentals of the game, each day beginning with registration and warm-up. Camp awards for each age group will include Team of the Week, MVP and Shooting Star.
