THE oddly-named Moss Bank Walking Stick and Debating Society - it adopted the walking stick as a symbol of maturity and sagacity! - is set for a re-launch after a two-year absence.
With their Moss Bank Hotel HQ under new management, the imposing ceremonial shield, designed to hold a collection of symbolic sticks, has been dug out of the cellar and re-hanged in its old pride of place.
Noted for its local history discussions, bowls outings, pub lectures and organised hikes, the society expects to be up and running again within a week or two. Members and candidates for admission are invited to pop into the pub for further details.
