TWO Tyldesley pubs are backing an appeal to raise pint pots of money.
Both The Gatehouse and The Union Arms have pledged to help Thwaites Brewery's Millennium Appeal to buy Help the Aged community buses for the north west.
They are among 400 pubs in the region which will be organising a whole range of activities to generate cash for the charity, and supported by comedian and radio presenter Jim Bowen.
He said: "A pint glass holds £300 in pound coins and a minibus costs £30,000 so we only need 100 pints of money
and we are ready to go.
"It's a cracking scheme and so many older people stand to benefit."
