CULCHETH'S Lions Club has twinned with the Big Valley club of California.
The link follows the year-long visit of member, Tony Smith, over here with his wife who was on a teaching exchange in the village.
The new president is David Ellam, who has recently received a long service chevron for his 20 years work.
The Lions, who celebrated a birthday dinner last month at Padgate College, are now in the process of arranging a Dickensian Day for November.
This year's zone chairman is immediate past president, Tony Lewis, and district youth outreach officer, Mike Barnes.
The club meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 8pm in Culcheth Sports Club. More details from Margaret Lewis on 01942 609749, fax 01942 706351, e-mail alewis@aol.com
