REGARDING the article 'In Tune With Tradition?' (Citizen, July 22).

I think they should leave ice cream van melodies just as they are.

If you are going to have pop music, then let's have the music of the true greats, such as the Beatles, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and ABBA.

But please, not today's third-rate, ten-a-penny, here-today-gone-tomorrow rubbish.

Today's stuff is not even catchy.

It's just a horrible noise and it all sounds the same.
