ROARING laughter and cheers galore greeted Chirpy the Clown as he arrived in St George's Shopping Centre, Preston, for the start of two months of fun-filled family entertainment.
With his comedy mixture of stilt walking, face painting, balloon modelling, magic and games, funny Chirpy was just the ticket to keep the kids amused.
Crowds flocked to see the colourful clown as he kick-started the Summer Fun entertainment event organised by bosses at Legal and Trade, who own the town centre shopping centre.
The family feast of fun has been organised in conjunction with the NSPCC to help raise vital cash for the charity's Full Stop campaign launched at the beginning of this year. A round of thrilling fund-raising events and activities are in the pipeline to help raise £5,000 for the good cause which aims to stop cruelty to children.
And there is even a chance to scoop £200 in the great Full Stop competition and other gifts in the Lucky Gifts prize draw including a widescreen television.
Manager of St George's Shopping Centre Carol Lowde said: "St George's is delighted to be helping the NSPCC with fund-raising activities and to do what we can to help the charity raise money for their Full Stop campaign.
"We hope all people coming to the shopping centre will enjoy the fun-filled entertainments on offer and support this very worthy cause."
