HAYDOCK and Sutton CC served up a thrilling match in the St Helens Rounders League.
It ended in an unusual 9-9 draw. The half-c=rounders proved crucial and are awarded for reaching second/third post after hitting the ball.
Sutton's Julie Pendlebury scored three full rounders, Sian Heaton (2) and Chris Hooley also put their names on the scoresheet. Sutton's fielders took 12 catches in all with Julie Pendlebury taking four.
Haydock's scorers were Janette Toole and Lisa Warburton with one rounder each, Lisa also added several half- rounders along with the impressive youngsters Kelly Nolan.
In a close match, TNT defeated Rainhill 12-11, assisting TNT in their efforts to finish runners-up in the league's First Division.
TNT have Rainford schoolgirls Kate Young and Laura Bamber in their squad who were recently selected to play at National level.
