CORONATION Street's lovable rogue Charlie West will be star of the show when Greater Manchester Police Band and Choir celebrate Leigh's Centenary.
Charlie - alias Keith Clifford - will join police in Victorian Peeler uniforms (similar to those pictured at the1949 Jubilee celebrations) and a special Centenary cake will be cut at Leigh Parish Church on Sunday, August 8.
Actor Keith, who also plays Billy Hardcastle in 'Last of the Summer Wine' and the show's Millenium special - just recorded in France before Bill 'Compo' Owen died, will do a Frank Randall spot.
"We'll be in church so I'll have to be careful," smiled Keith who will perform a short excerpt from 'The Sandalous Life and Liver of Frank Randall".
Also at the concert will be soloist Glenys Entwistle.
Tickets, free of charge, are available from Pw Kath Bromilow (Community Affairs Section) by phoning 0161-856 7052.
