"COTTAGE industry" has taken on a new dimension for an Anglo German company which is giving students a vital taste of the business life in Bury.

Jan and Ken Barnes, who run the award-winning Boardmans Farm in Hawkshaw, welcome a constant stream of German graduate students who undergo English language tuition and business placements.

The visitors are housed at the 40-acre Boardmans site which comprises self-catering accommodation of four cottages and four apartments. On site, there are seminar facilities which are constantly used by the students.
