THESE days, the heritage banner certainly gets plenty of exercise.
Attention is drawn to Queen's Park Hospital, the former Union Workhouse - opened 1864, overlooking Blackburn at Whinney Heights. Demolition work of the old ramparts is at present in progress.
Though not generally described as a building of beauty, it must, however, be acknowledged as an impressive edifice at least. How much of its lengthy expanse will disappear from the easterly skyline?
