MP PETER Pike has called for early publication of the Police Complaints Authority report into circumstances surrounding the death in custody of Christopher Alder, whose Burnley sister Janet has campaigned for justice in the case.
It follows last week's announcement that five police officers are to face charges in connection with 38-year-old Christopher's death in Hull central police station in April last year.
Janet , who lives in the Manchester Road area of Burnley, has campaigned for a full and open investigation for over a year and has met both Mr Pike and Home secretary and Blackburn MP Jack Straw about the case.
Today Mr Pike said: "I hope the latter can now publish their report as soon as possible. It has taken far too long and I have raised the delay with Mr Straw in the House of Commons," he said.
A Humberside police spokesman said the officers would be charged with a common law offence of misconduct in a public office.
