A HEARTBROKEN mother is hoping thieves will return precious memories of her baby daughter.
Nikki Griffin lost property worth thousands of pounds when her Huncoat home was raided on Friday but all she wants back is a video cassette of baby Bethanie's first year.
Nikki, who lives with her fiancee Malcolm Shread at Ullswater Avenue, said: "I started recording it when she first came home from hospital. I recorded when she started to roll over and all the moments you can't capture on photos.
"I can replace a lot of the things that were stolen but I can't replace my daughter's first year."
Nikki and Malcolm spent Friday displaying their owls and other birds of prey at the Royal Lancashire Show, Chorley, and returned to find their home had been burgled.
It is thought the burglars climbed through a first floor window before making off with the video player, video camera, a lap top computer and jewellery including Nikki's engagement ring.
The thieves also stole a piggy bank containing £137 which Nikki had been saving for one-year-old Bethanie.
Nikki said: "I was just about to take the money to put in a bank account when it was taken."
She is appealing for whoever has her video cassette, or anyone who knows where it may be, to return it to her or leave it at a police station.
She said: "It would be a bonus to get my jewellery back, but if there's anything I want, it's the video."
