LANCASHIRE police have launched their summer campaign against drink-driving with a new non-alcoholic cocktail and the message: "Don't drink and drive, don't drink and die".
The fruity Summer '99 cocktail was unveiled at Blackpool's Brannigans bar yesterday and will be served up as a non-alcoholic alternative to customers this month.
The campaign, which follows the force's successful Christmas initiative, is being supported by a massive poster and radio push which will include hard-hitting messages like:
A message to drivers on their way home tonight: One of you won't make it. Don't drink and drive.
Tonight one of you will have a drink and do something you wish you hadn't. Like kill someone. Don't drink and drive.
What's it like to kill someone? Tomorrow one of you will find out. Don't drink and drive.
Almost 3,500 people were killed or seriously injured in drink-drive related incidents in 1997.
