YOUNG football stars of the future proved they were on the ball as they were rewarded for taking part in a week-long soccer school, writes JEREMY RICHARDS.
Burnley FC "hot shots" Chris Brass and Paul Weller were at Pendle Leisure Centre, Colne, to present medals and trophies to a 46-strong group of five-to-13-year-olds who took part in the annual event.
The soccer school, which was organised by Pendle Council leisure staff, included a trip to Manchester United's Old Trafford ground as well as training sessions and competitions.
The youngsters battled it out in a series of five-a-side contests before the presentation ceremony with the winners and runners-up all receiving trophies. The Clarets stars presented the trophies and medals for the young players who showed the most promise in basic skills such as shooting, passing and heading during the week.
