POLICE were called to a new skateboard park after neighbours complained it attracted drug-users.
Officers patrolled in and around Alkincoats Park, made an arrest and are satisfied that the problem has been resolved, councillors have been told.
But the success has not solved another problem local residents say has been caused by the park - noise.
They have written to the council saying noise levels since the skateboard area was opened near the children's playground in May cause them "much distress" and has ruined the peace and tranquillity.
Members of the council's Colne committee will tomorrow look at ways of solving the problem - including moving the skatepark to nearby Pendle Leisure Centre.
But officers warn the cost of moving the facility would top £9,500 and there is no money to meet the bill.
Councillors are being advised to simply allow the dividing hedge between the park and nearby houses to grow to lessen noise from the skateboard area.
