AN inquest into the death of Steven Donald will be held on August 19 and 20 in Blackburn Town Hall.
Acting coroner Michael Singleton has fixed the date despite the lack of a decision from Hyndburn Council as to whether there will be a prosecution under the health and safety regulations.
Mr Donald, aged 17, of York Street, Clayton-le-Moors, died after being crushed in a bailing machine at EW Cartons in Rishton.
The Crown Prosecution Service have already announced that they will not be pursuing any criminal prosecution against any company or individual.
Inquests are not normally held until the conclusion of other court proceedings but Mr Singleton said that, in the absence of a decision from Hyndburn Borough Council he felt it was unfair on the family of Mr Donald to delay the matter any longer.
