A NEW course record was set in the Pendle Forest Cycling Club midweek promotion when visitor from Skipton, Eddie Aunger, produced a ride of 12mins 33secs to beat the old record for the 5.65 mile hilly course by two seconds.

Peter Haigh of the Nelson Wheelers was second fastest in 14mins 04secs and Paul Whittaker of the promoting club third in 15mins 10secs.

In a hilly 10-mile event over the holiday period, Pendle Forest's own Jonathan Boothman was best with 25mins 54secs which was a personal best on this demanding course near Thornton in Craven whilst Dave Metcalfe of the Clayton Velo Club, was second in 26mins 42secs and Peter Haigh of Nelson Wheelers third in 27mins 36secs.
