SUPER B, Malt and Hops, Manxman and Miners Arms all progressed to the Jonathan Wright Memorial League semi finals of the Summer Cup.
Protec beat Graham and Brown 1-0 in the only first round match, then lost out 3-1 to the Miners Arms in the second round. Super B had to overcome a spirited TLM Blackburn and Sough Athletic lost 2-0 to Manxman.
In the semi-finals Malt and Hops came from behind to beat Super B 3-1 but the scores did not reflect the game. Manxman also came from behind with goals from Bury and Riding, giving them a 2-1 success over Miners Arms.
In the final, although Manxman played well, Malt and Hops always had the edge and an excellent solo goal from Carl Marshall and a well worked second finished off by Usbourne gave the cup to the Hops.
A result given to the league and since corrected had a major bearing on the runners up slot in the Second Division. It now means The Pub, who were thought to have gained that, have now dropped to third, and SS Lucas, now with the points from the last match, move above The Pub and take second place on goal difference.
Lawrenson Cup semi finals draw: The Pub v Miners Arms (kick off 1pm); Angel v Manxman (kick off 2pm).
Both fixtures to be played on Sunday, August 8.
