IT is pleasing to see the considerable number of people using the new Outwood Trail as it becomes a well-established local route for everyone to enjoy - walkers, horse riders and cyclists alike - though it is equally disappointing to read of the attitude displayed by the walker who confronted P. McGlynn's grandchildren ("Have I discovered path rage?", Your Letters, July 30).
As a point of public information the children were quite within their rights to use this particular path for cycling. The leaflet for the Outwood Trail clearly explains that ". . . the track for cycles is shared with walkers, so please be considerate to avoid accidents". Good sense and tolerance should ensure this. The walker should not have directed cycle users towards the horse track, which is a softer surfaced path unsuitable for wheeled use.
