SOLDIERS of the King's Hussars were in Hindley on Tuesday to pay their last respects at the funeral of a teenage pal tragically killed in Kosovo.
Six Hussars carried the coffin of Trooper Daniel Holt, 19, of Hindley Green, who died from injuries sustained in a road accident.
Daniel received serious brain injuries in a crash near Obilic and was flown from Kosovo to intensive care at Haslar Naval Hospital, Gosport, Hampshire.
Two days after the accident his family decided to remove the life support systems because of the extent of his injuries.
But the unselfish former Mornington High pupil, who was part of the peace-keeping force in Kosovo, will continue to help others. His vital organs have been donated to help the seriously ill.
