POLICE are investigating two crimes which they believe involved air pistols.
A 13-year-old boy was left terrified when an apparently drunk man shot at him after demanding he hand over his bike.
The incident occurred between 10.50pm and 11.15pm on Monday, August 2, as the boy and a friend walked down Longridge Road.
When the youngster refused to hand over his bike, the man produced a pistol and fired at him twice.
The man is described as white, aged 30, 5ft 10ins and stocky, with short, light-brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans and possibly a white jumper, concealing the pistol in a white carrier bag.
The shaken youngster told police that he felt and heard two pellets fly past his face.
Police believe that an air rifle of some description was used to smash the security lights on a house in Elm Grove, Ribbleton, between 1am and 8pm on Monday, August 2. The lights were shattered by pellets.
Anyone with information on either of the attacks should contact Preston police on (01772) 203203.
