REGARDING the proposed Safeway store in Great Harwood, I am neither for nor against it.
I do not shop at the Co-op store as the badly placed tills cause a lot of unnecessary confusion, dodging trolleys, etc.
I find Whitehead's shops to have good service, plenty of choice and pleasant staff who are also quick.
If there had been as much effort put into keeping the Oxo factory in our town as there is over the proposed supermarket by our former council leader, the town would be thriving again.
I doubt if one old age pensioner's shopping would make much difference to the profits of big businesses, but it is sad to see so many of our shops shutting up.
