PRESTON take on Oldham at Boundary Park on Saturday - with an injury-ravaged squad. Winger Lee Cartwright became the latest victim when he suffered a repeat of last season's medial ligament injury at the friendly against Bolton.
Cartwright clashed with a Bolton player before going down clutching his knee and is now expected to miss at least a month of the season.
It's Cartwright's third knee injury in three years - he missed PNE's 13 game run-in last season and he will be sorely missed at the start of this campaign. He is joined by long-term casualty Gary Parkinson and new signing Adam Eaton, still suffering from a fractured toe he picked up against Bamber Bridge.
Kurt Nogan could miss the Oldham game with a niggling Achilles tendon problem and Steve Basham is yet to play this season.
He was on the subs bench for the Bolton game but missed out when the match was abandoned.
Tickets for 4,000 seats in the Rochdale end of the stand are currently on sale at Deepdale.
