A DRUG abuser who launched a one man crime wave in Lancaster was sentenced to two years imprisonment this week.
Preston Crown Court was told that Wayne Bland's offending was related to his drugs problem. He will serve his time at a young offenders institute.
Bland, 20, of Preston New Road, Blackburn, had been committed for sentence by Lancaster magistrates for theft of a video case from a Lancaster record shop on March 22, stealing a cheque book and credit card which he found on May 1 and using it to buy trainers from a Lancaster shop.
He also admitted handling a stolen microwave which he sold for £20 and driving while disqualified on May 23 on Scale Farm Road, Lancaster.
Bland told police he had found the car with its engine running and after keeping watch for half an hour he took it.
Bland also pleaded guilty to burgling a house on Whitbarrow Square, Lancaster on May 19 when he took a gold gate bracelet worth £500 which was a family heirloom. Bland promised to turn over a new leaf.
