TWO teenagers from St Helens have died following a tragic road traffic accident on the holiday island of Ibiza in the early hours of Wednesday, July 28. The pair named by the Foreign Office as Keith Thomas (18) and Lee David Walkden (17) were on a Sunworld Club 18-30 holiday.
A statement from the holiday company, said: "It is with deep regret that Club 18-30 can confirm that two holidaymakers, an 18-year-old man and his 17-year-old friend, were killed in a road traffic accident in Ibiza during the early hours of last Wednesday morning.
"Information available from the local authorities on the island suggest the tragic accident happened after the two men left a nightclub to return to their accommodation in San Antonio.
"As neither of the men were carrying any form of identification, local police were initially unable to identify them or their nationality. Investigations into the exact cause and nature of the accident are continuing.
"On behalf of the company, Club 18-30 general manager Andy Tidy would like to extend his deepest sympathies to the family, friends and colleagues of both men at this very sad and difficult time."
