THE final pieces of West Craven Warriors RLFC have come to fruition as first team squad resumed their pre-season build-up this week.
Coach Steve Simpson - and now also life president - can look with pride on the development of the club he founded in 1994 with just a handful of Under-15s players.
Warriors now boast a small army of qualified coaches who oversee teams at Under-Eights, Under-Nines, Under-10s, Under-12s, Under-14s, Under-18s and Open Age. Secretary Anne Baldwin was recently voted 'Secretary of the Year' by the West Riding Youth League, and a more than able administration team have made real contributions to the club's meteoric rise.
Club chairman Steve Szostak presides over a hard-working behind-the-scenes team which includes: Vice-chairman Chris Storey, treasurer Sandra Dix, and a committee which includes Con McKinstry, Alf Handforth, Glyn Elwick, Sheila Marshall, and Sue Milenkovic, plus a separate, but no less industrious, fund-raising committee.
The club are also proud of their strong links with West Craven High School and are always on the lookout for new talent.
