AN Accrington lad who made his fortune as an accountant and now lives in the Bahamas is coming home to visit his mates who he hasn't seen since his teens.
Stan Johnson, formerly of Yorkshire Street, made a name for himself away from his home town and has now retired and spends his time travelling the world watching cricket test matches.
Mr Johnson has been back in his home country for the England versus New Zealand four test series, the third match of which has just been completed at Old Trafford. He got in touch with his old pal Jeff Astin of Waddington Road, Accrington, and suggested tonight's re-union, which will be held at the Park Inn, Manchester Road, Accrington.
Mr Astin, a college lecturer until his retirement, in turn got in touch with six of the other lads who spent their teenage years together in the late 1940s and early 1950s in the Wood Nook area of Accrington.
