Eyewitness - 3D Rocks and Minerals (Dorling Kindersley, price £9.99)
This is not only a book but an alternative 3D viewer showing interesting rocks and minerals as if they were really in front of you.
A mirror comes with the book and when you put it in a special holder on each page it makes the photographs jump out at you as if you could touch them. We think that a lot more books should be made like this.
The book is interesting to read and fun to look at. We would even recommend it to older readers who are studying the subject.
Kerry Steele, Olivia Cook and Stuart Greenfield,Year 6 DK Discoveries "Aztecs", by Richard Platt (Dorling Kindersley, price £9.99)
THIS book is very informative and clear with detailed, well drawn pictures and photographs of the artifacts.
It tells you about the Aztec civilization and how they were conquered by the Spanish soldiers.
We especially liked the fold out in the middle explaining about the conquest.
This book would be useful if you were doing a project or homework on the subject and is suitable for anyone aged nine and over.
Joanne Whalley, Katie Foot, Benjamin Lewis and Michael Lewis, Year 6
