NEW transport boss Kevin Lasbury has pledged to find out more about noroious Grane Road, where 83 people have been killed or injured in two years.
Mr Lasbury, who took over as head of the North West's Highways Agency this week, has asked Lancashire County Council to find out whether accidents have increased on the Haslingden-Blackburn moorland road.
He plans to meet LCC and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council officials to discuss the road's appalling record.
Residents claim traffic has increased since the M65 extension opened, as motorway drivers use it as a short cut between Haslingden and Guide. Residents campaigned for traffic calming measures, and Rossendale and Hyndburn councillors have backed a £5,000 scheme for traffic calming measures.
Lancashire County Council is also considering paying for speed cameras.
