PER Frandsen proved his immense worth to the Bolton cause last night and at the same time saved Wanderers' blushes.
The Danish midfielder, who many expected to have moved up to the Premiership during the close season, scored a fine second half equaliser after Bolton had looked likely to slump to an embarrassing defeat against a Third Division outfit.
A mistake by Greg Strong allowed Michael Oliver to give the Quakers the lead on the stroke of half time and it seemed that much fancied Darlington were on for something of a giant-killing. Bolton's Scandinavian contingent thought differently however, and Frandsen latched on to a glorious pass from Claus Jensen to hammer home the leveller and make it all to play for back at the Reebok Stadium in a fortnight.
