SHAKESPEARE'S "Much Ado About Nothing" came to Burnley like a breath of fresh air as actors presented outdoor performances of the play at Towneley this week.
The Midsommer Actors, one of the country's finest and most popular touring companies is making its third visit to the town, the only Lancashire venue for the production. And the group, which is attracting strong support with its "walkabout" production, which allows audiences to literally follow the action, has brought Shakespeare into the 20th century with a more modern day presentation.
Burnley's mayor, Coun Eddie Fisk paid a special visit to welcome the players and see the production himself.
Performances take place each evening at 7.30pm until Saturday.
Tickets are available at Burnley Mechanics on 01282 430055 or on the night of each performance an hour before the start.
