ASHLEY Siddle is on course to follow in his dad's footsteps after becoming the ELGA Junior Champion.
Siddle, who plays at Rossendale, won the crown with a best gross of 72 in East Lancashire's most prestigious junior event staged at Great Harwood GC.
His dad, Andy, is already a key member of the ELGA Senior team.
And now, Ashley, himself a member of the ELGA Junior side, has taken his first step towards emulating him.
Baxenden's Adam Gray finished runner up with a gross 75 after a card play-off with ELGA Junior captain and Rossen- dale member Craig Ashton. And Nick Grimshaw won the prize for best nett after a card of 91-35-56.
Job McGeoch finished second (78-17-61) ahead of Stephen Connor (90-27-63) who was third.
ELGA Junior Secretary Dave France hailed the event as a great success and said: "It looked at one point as though the weather was going to spoil it, but we managed to get away with it and there were some excellent scores."
