IN answer to the letter concerning Cherry Tree Drive Estate (Star, July 29) I would like to know what these people expect. A quiet, dignified life? Forget it!
With the bleeding hearts and do-gooders in charge, the values that the older generation grew up with are fast being whittled away.
Discipline has disappeared from the schools and along with it, good manners. Foul language is heard from 10-year-olds and upwards, anywhere that children gather. They do not even respect themselves. The daily diet of rubbish that is pumped out through the media directly helps to cause this.
As mentioned, great attention is paid to people who are a problem but if anyone is a law-abiding citizen, scant attention is paid.
Backed by MPs and the 'I'm all right Jack' establishment with the weight of Europe behind them, it is virtually impossible to receive proper justice.
I am quite sure that if the schooling of some of the people who run the country included an examination of common sense, not many of them would have a pass mark.
Cherry Tree Drive residents, you have my sympathy over what I think is a country-wide problem. It will not be tackled because vandalism and yobbishness is being 'Nelson-ed' - we all know what he was supposed to have done! It's a great life 'at the top.'
My qualifications? Successfully bringing up a family of five.
Disgusted citizen (name and address supplied).
